Self-directed Learning with Special Focus on Gifted Students

Gifted students are a special group of students who learn much faster than their age peers do. They do not generally prefer didactic teaching, instead, they enjoy working independently at their own pace. However, some of them may not get hold of the essential learning skills or may not have developed the habit that aid their learning. Hence, underachievement may result. Under the COVID-19 pandemic, self-directed learning becomes even more important for these students. Apart from factors like time management, learning environment, learning resources, etc., self-directed learning skills play a prominent role in the learning effectiveness of students.
