The “Safe Cracking” International Physics Tournament 2021 (E3PHY002D)
The aim of the safe-cracking tournament is to encourage basic understanding of physics principles and develop original ideas to implement these principles. On the day of the tournament, teams from Israel and around the world present the locking mechanisms they built as a challenge to the other teams and try to “crack” other teams’ safes.
The international tournament will be held by the Davidson Institute of Science Education at the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel.
Upon completion of the camp, student participants should be able to:
- brainstorm ideas, work collaboratively and creatively in the team-based student hands-on project sessions;
- meet new friends and develop long-term friendship with overseas gifted students and gifted education professionals and continue to share their learning experience with each other; and
- promote cultural exchange while enhancing their academic development.
