Science and Innovation International Summer Camp (ILO/014)

Science and Innovation International Summer Camp will gather 35 Hebrew and Chinese high school students to participate in various academic courses and excursion in Israel (Tel Aviv University), Hong Kong (HKUST) and Hangzhou (Zhejiang University 浙江大學). Tel Aviv University organised similar summer camp in the last 2 years.

Upon completion of the camp, student participants should be able to:

  • brainstorm ideas, work collaboratively and creatively in the multinational team-based student hands-on project sessions;
  • meet new friends and develop long-term friendship with overseas gifted students and gifted education professionals and continue to share their learning experience with each other; and
  • promote cultural exchange while enhancing their academic development.

Content and other details:

  • Lectures and tours of state-of-the-art labs and facilities, exciting excursions and field trips around the country;
  • Tentative itinerary


  • 4 HKAGE student members aged 15-18 (must be 15-18 on or before 21 July 2019) with outstanding performance in Sciences;
  • Fluent in English;
  • Shows a genuine interest in and desire to learn science and technology;
  • Physically and mentally healthy;
  • Have the mental fortitude to carry out group activities for 3 weeks; and
  • Have extensive knowledge of his/her own society, culture, etc.

Fee :

  • The net cost will be around HK$35,000 – HK$40,000 per student which depends on the final air ticket price. Students will be responsible to pay their own airfare and taxes.

  • The programme cost includes the airfare, travel insurance, accommodation, some meals, learning activities and excursions. 

  • For overseas programmes, to the order of 50% of the programme cost will be on-charged to the student member and the remaining 50% subsidised by the HKAGE, to a maximum of HK$10,000 per student member per academic year. The maximum subsidy for student members who are granted eligible government subsidies are different and may apply for increasing the maximum subsidy limit.  Details please refer to the Overseas Programme Subsidy Policy.

  • Student members with financial difficulties may apply for fee remission on the 50% of the programme cost on-charged to each student member. Details please refer to the Fee Remission Policy.

Travel document and visa: Students must bring along their travel document which is valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of departure and a visa to Israel (if applicable)

Application procedure and deadline:

Applicants should complete the followings -

(2) Parent Consent Form

to the HKAGE on or before 15 May 2019 (Wed) via email to with the email subject as ”Science and Innovation International Summer Camp Parent Consent Form (Your HKAGE Student Number)”or by fax to 3940 0202 to complete the application process. Late submission will not be entertained.

Screening interview:

The shortlisted result will be announced on 17 May 2019 (Fri) by email. Shortlisted applicants are required to attend a screening interview held on 22 May 2019 (Wed)Absences will be considered as withdrawal.  Make-up interviews will not be arranged.

Applicant result:

Shortlisted applicants should log in the “Programme Application Result” in the HKAGE website to check the application result after 5:00 p.m. on 24 May 2019 (Fri).

A briefing session will be arranged for all successful applicants and their parents with details as follows:
